No I don't think that. I think it is representative of the poor quality of the other candidates. Look at the popularity figures for Jospin and Chirac, and the low turnout numbers. Le Pen has promised to take France out of the European Union and the Euro. If the markets thought he had the slightest chance of actually winning the election, the Euro would have been utterly decimated today.

the Le Pen showing indicates a move in Europe to more and more xenophobia Le Pen strikes me as Pat Buchanan in a beret. If we survived Buchanan, France can survive Le Pen. In fact, it could be argued this is a sign of a vibrant democratic process where even the whacky have a voice. Now, if he actually wins...

Have you been to France - go LE PEN!! Tell you, I hope he wins! Ask yourself why British and Swiss never went into Euro. The French are losing the country, in certian cities I feel like I am in the Middle East!!!! --The election is on May 5th, if he wins this will have a HUGH IMPACT ON THE STOCK MARKET!! He may win, a lot of people are fed up with current government over there, it is a mess!
