Top general dies in crash

CARACAS -- A flag flies at half-staff, above, in Caracas after the man named days ago by President Hugo Chavez to lead Venezuela's air force died in a helicopter crash. Gen. Luis Acevedo, three other air force generals and six other members of the military died Friday night when their military helicopter crashed in fog-shrouded mountains 10 miles north of Caracas, officials said. Acevedo was made air force chief Wednesday in the wake of a failed anti-Chavez coup.
