RtS, Cary,

I agree, it is the bookings that is most important. When
compared to the beginning of the last "up" cycles, the
present data looks OK. Looking back at the last 2 cycles,
finding the low point in bookings and then comparing the
next five months by percentage gains, the last 5 months
compares pretty well.

BOOKINGS COMPARISONS
Sep 96 Month Sep 98 Month Nov 01 Month
to Percent to Percent to Percent
Jan 97 Gain Jan 99 Gain Mar02 Gain
778 481 589
833 7 638 33 614 4
952 14 767 20 655 7
1078 13 883 15 737 13
1116 4 997 13 839 14
Total % 43 107 42

The present 5 month period percent gain is comparable to the
the one in 96/97, but significantly slower than the 98/99
period.
