mb, You are stating the John Maynard Keynes case. When asked why he did poorly on the Economics exam for Civil Servants, he replied, "I obviously knew more than the examiners." <g>

I noted the same things about the CFA exam back in the old days. One long essay question on CFA III was worth 40% of the total, and it had to do with allocating assets. The answer was stocks, cash and bills. My answer of 90/10 buying options and options on futures got me a zero on that question. Guess who doesn't have those 3 letters after his name and spits every time he hears the term? Not that I'm a sore loser. <VBG>
