Telecom will go through a shakeout over the next year or two. Some will go BK, others will merge or be taken over. Then, with improving demand for their services and more tempered expansion plans, the remaining players will thrive, perhaps not grow tremendously, but they'll do OK.

Did you hear the GLW news yesterday, maybe a profit of .01 by the 3rd qtr., 2003. The media was saying, despite some improvement in revenue coming, no profits due to pricing pressures.
This is why there's a bunch of press and talk about a profitless recovery, IMO.
Some optical players probably going BK, IMO.
