Too much arguing about history guys.
Only point is whether we are to live in a world where terrorists walk into an ice cream parlor, movie theatre, dance hall, religous service, WTC etc and routinely blow them up.
The historical grievances of both parties can be resolved if only this were to stop. Plenty of blame to go around but Terror stands outside the box of legit grievances imo and are thus non-negotiable.
One positive thing the israelis have done for the palestinians is that they have killed/captured so many terrorists that Arafat may get a second chance to control them. Terrorist without their leaders and weapons will be easier to control than before.
And if u guys can get it online you should read John Podhoretz column in the NY Post today re: Massacre. Eye opener.
How come u guys dont ever respond to me? Am i chopped liver? mike

Runes and Mike--

I did read the Podhoretz report and it was indicative of much of the reasoning.

Runes, we seem to be crossing lines wiithout getting anywhere. I stand corrected on the right of return, but you didn't respond to the Arab assimilation of the immigrant issue. Begin indeed bombed British headquarters at the King David Hotel. I know of no bombing of innocent civilians or of the desecration of Muslim religious sites. The US did kill innocent civilians and I marched on DC in opposition. It was not a policy that made American mothers proud.

Bin Laden, in a TV interview about a yr before the WTC was asked if there were no Israel and if US troops were not in Saudi, would he still continue terrorism, and he answered affirmatively. In fact, he smiled as he answered.

Yes, this weekend, for the reasons I mentioned, I moved much closer to Mike's position. I can't find a better alternative that's effective.
