Around here at least, you cannot find a doctor that will perform an elective abortion past the first trimester. As far as I know, it is pretty much the same in the rest of the country. Do you know of any study that indicates different?

The better question is, "Do you know of a study that supports YOUR statement"?

If late-term abortions weren't occurring, you would not have seen the huge controversy during the Clinton administration over this issue. They most definitely DO occur. Some of my customers perform them, and I know OF other physicians who are not my customers that perform them.

They certainly aren't in the numbers of first trimester abortions, but they certainly do occur. As a pragmatic conservative, I am pro-choice. But these late-term abortions ought to be banned -- if they're not killings, they are at a minimum barbarism that is inconsistent with a civilized society.

Combjelly you don't need a study to support my statement. I said "Even if this is true its not true that all of them are".

All I need is one example to show that my statement is true, because if one time such an abortion was done even though it was not medically necessary, then my statement is true. People who have performed late term abortions that where not medically necessary have talked about doing so, so you have more then one case where elective late term abortions have been performed in the US. It would be hard to get an exact number but I don't need an exact number to back up my statement.
