John has previously stated that as far as he is concerned unless it is reported by the NY Times or Washington Post it didn't happen.

He considers newspapers like the WSJ and Washington Times to be similar to tabloids.

One of the nicer things about the internet is that misquotes hang around long enough to be corrected.

The first comment is an accurate quote but you forgot to include the fact that it was meant to be funny. If you wish, I'll bore you and everyone else, once again, about my state as a humor challenged person (can you chuckle at my attempt to make fun of those who make fun of the pc stuff?).

As for the WSJ and the Washington Times, I have great respect for the reporting in the WSJ. Many times they beat the NYTimes on the same topic. It's the editorial page that causes me to unlimber my little satchel of negative adjectives. Bad stuff. As for the Washington Times, I have nothing good to say. But that's all on the basis of a reputation which I've always assumed was well earned. I don't live in Washington, only see articles taken from it, links from Drudge, etc. So I have a wee bit of evidence but would welcome some counter evidence.
