I am not sure what it is. I am a "distinguished" looking guy, I guess, all the more so as I become older. I just step off the curb, hold my hand up high, and try to make eye contact with every cab that come along. Unless it is a horribly busy period, I usually have no problem getting a cab. People who have been with me have found it spooky.....
