So the Democratic Party is filled with the ranting hateful and the Republican party is filled with moderates? My goodness, we must live on different planets.

The Dems I know are, like me: hardworking citizens who pay our taxes, worry about retirement and scrimp to pay for our kids' college educations.

The Republican Party does not have a patent on anger

The Republican's use anger as a tool more than any other party. It fits the goon-squad intimidation of poll workers better.
