Paul, I guess my thoughts were that if it dipped much below 10,000 some fear might come into play. I think the MM's will defend the 10,000 level for psychological reasons as well as technical and money reasons. I agree with 9940, and it would actually work better since 10,030 is like the last bastion of hope before 10,000, and that does not leave as much wiggle room as 9940.

If the MM's take it down to 9940, it would have to be on a hard drop to kick in all the buy programs at the 200-SMA.

It might also make sense to take out some stops just below 10,000, so your 9940 may be a much better number.
