Thanks for posting those thoughts on "homophobia", Tim.

Actually, I have found gays themselves to be more cautious in applying that term than their supporters, for fear of trivialization. After all, if "aversion to homosexuality" is the criterion for its application, there is the risk of labelling hundreds of millions at a time, beginning with all Christians, Jews, and Islamics.

It is a cool way to save time and thought, however.

Anyway, I leave such labelling to others.

no regulation is ever counterproductive
I wouldn't claim that in either the public or private sector. Most counterintuitive regulations are the result of specific laws often passed to benefit a special interest instead of shortcomings in the federal departments, which generally try to perform a useful service.
