Excellent. The European Left and Right have both been tainted by this horror of commerce and the bourgeois virtues. Of course, the essence of the bourgeois mentality is not so much commerce as it is practicality. The bourgeois may turn his attention to military affairs, for example, but he will develop better training methods, superior tactics, and a better arsenal. He may turn his attention to politics, but he will seek the improvement of services at a reasonable cost. He is more interested in being effective than in being poetic. And all of these bourgeois tinkerers together have changed the face of the Earth, and made it possible to foresee a time of universal improvement.......
