Tim, I concede that spills are everywhere and that drilling in the ANWR and Prudhoe Bay increases the probability of them happening in the region.

But it doesn't increase the chance of them happening somewhere on the earth.

How about raising taxes on gas?

I'm against that as well but not as strongly as I am against centralized command and control attempts to force conservation. The tax increase would be less intrusive and thus less limiting on individual freedom, and it would allow people to pick and choose how (or even if) they wanted to conserve energy which would make it more economically efficient then having the decisions made by congress or the EPA or the department of energy.
