YOu are starting to sound like Barry McGuire, Rich. You know, that good old hippie song about the "Eve of Destruction!"

One has to wonder how thin the line is that prevents total societal breakdown. I cannot see how the aging baby boomers, of which I am one, will be taken care of by the upcoming generation. They will be overwhelmed IMO. We are being fed bullshit by both parties on this issue. We have learned how to keep people, who can't do simple tasks for themselves, alive for decades. Just visit any nursing home and multiply by 20.

Where are the care givers going to come from? All able bodied people would have to be occupied taking care of those who can't take care of themselves. And I see the younger generation in poorer health because of excess weight and lack of activity because we have made life very easy. I don't see a humane solution except for robots that would do the care giving. That would in turn take even more energy.

Solutions anyone? No need for wisecracks here.
