on reminding techie to mention certain "bad events". i will have to balance that by saying techie put on one of the best shorting displays i have ever seen. i was their cheering him on, and saying yes yes go for it, but i frankly didn't have the cajones to do it myself. He started shorting the networkers and chips and clecs and dsls when then were at death-defying heights, and just rode and rode them down and down and down. I remember, believe or not, giving a commentary on why the telcoms would collapse,and i was then abundantly derided as mad, except by techie who grabbed hold and PRACTICED what i preached. i later wrote about thought versus actions--i made nothing, techie, who knows, but he must have made quite a substantial sum. Max p.s. but then there were moments like WARNACO for techie(buy-side)
