I guess I'm not the only crazy prediction maker:

GFMS see gold price at $285/315 during rest of 2002

"GFMS also said it expected global mine output to increase by 0.7 percent, or 18 tonnes, this year. In 2001 mine production was 2,604 tonnes.

The gold industry had widely expected production to fall this year because of declining outout at mature mines in the world's biggest producers, South Africa, Australia, and the United States. "
