If the cable modem and ADSL internet service providers can't even make money out of infrastructure that has been around for decades, then whichever wireless data technology requiring new infrastructure wins, they won't be able to make money out of that either.

That's all that needs to be said about that<g>

It doesn't matter, at least not anytime soon. Nobody is going to buy the infrastructure until either (a) it's cheap or (b) consumers are willing to pay through the nose for it. I don't see either one happening soon.

Plus the wireless ethernet providers are already starting to roll out. Whether they'll make money remains to be seen.
