I think paleolib was coined by Mickey Kaus. I am happy to use it as often as I can. Why should the awkward appellation 'paleo' be applied only to libertarians and conservatives? <g> Kaus uses the term 'neolib' a lot, too.

But it does have a real meaning. Neocons have certainly defined themselves in the Republican Party, to the consternation of paleocons. There is a shift in the Democrat Party, too. The center-rightists are telling the true believers to please be quiet, at least for awhile. I think both parties are attempting a shift to the center.
