I have no idea what led to this sell-off.

Economy sucks for many. Perhaps people are selling winners that they have in case we now go back to new lows. Many think the real bottom will be in the Fall... Others think we will get a double dip recession.

Beige book report is subtly better and indicates we've turned the corner but the growth is anemic and capital spending is still mostly nonexistant. We really need companies to start to spend for people to feel good, but it might be too late to invest when this happens

Irrational Exstuperance?

Seriously I guess we all have to admit valuations are high if we are going to get only a tepid recovery.

Sometimes the market just snowballs down hill. We have seen it numerous times during this Bear Market. The latest excuse for selling seems to be that there is not enough evidence of a pick up in end unit demand for most semiconductor companies.

Take a look at this chart of AMAT. How many times has the stock gone down 5 days in a row?
