Saving lives is saving lives. Sharon had the opportunity and didn't do so, and he really should've. If Sharon had really had any participation in such a massacre, I trust that he'd have never been elected PM.

Z, on the contrary the issue came up; that's why Netanyahu was the clear cut favorite until Barak finessed him out of the race. The choice then was Sharon vs Barak....the Israelis wanted a hard ass and picked Sharon in spite of his record.

The Israeli tribunal back in the early 1980's didn't just slap Sharon's hand; he was forced to resign.
