Hi RR! Last year my peahen hatched 5 peachicks, and 2 have survived the winter! Looks like one male and one female. They wander all over the neighborhood. They're big enough to survive on their own now, although they still hang around with mom.

My peacock sure has beautiful plumage this year! proud papa!

Occasionally I get a heron in the pond. Visiting geese, too.

The red tailed hawk took my bannie cock. Too bad, he was really cute. Fortunately, I had just rescued a rooster from someone who was raising him for the fights, so I still have my alarm clock. He was still young when I rescued him so he's not mean at all. Quite tame. He's real popular with the hens... We're finding eggs all over the barn.

I also lost a foal this year. For some reason the mare had the foal about 3 months early. No chance. Would have been a filly. The mare's ok, we haven't decided about rebreeding her again.

Last year's foal (almost a yearling now!) is going great. I gelded him about a month ago. So now I can put him in the pasture with the mares.

And my daughter's 29 year old gelding made it thru another winter. Kept his weight on, too. We've been pulling tons of hair off the old guy!

Well, that's the farm report.
