I rechecked my gut number of 50% efficiency and found that things like Content Creation Winstone, Content Creation Sysmark and newer games were all between 55% and 65%. They get 11% to 13% faster performance out of a 20% clock speed increase. Sysmark office is down around 30%. So, worst case, 25% faster than a 2.5 GHz P4 is equivalent to a (1+ 0.25/0.65)*2.5GHz P4, or 3.46 GHz.

Very close to that 3.4 number bandied about since day 1.
