Pro-pollution and oil people don't like to think about that. Stick their heads in the sand, remember the 50's and think strictly short term power and profits. But the greater profit for our country is in starting to get off oil now, leading the world in that direction. It's not a flakey idea at all, it's THE idea. It gets rid of most Middle Eastern problems for us, cleans up air, water and land, stops global warming, would eventually save money for every auto driver and we'd create cars we can actually sell overseas. Right now we cannot sell our big gas guzzlers anywhere. Our auto business has been the stupidest bunch I've ever seen for so long. No wonder foreign auto-makers kick their butts on a regular basis. American cars aren't built to last and they are less safe and fuel efficient. So who wants one unless you want a rolling living room or need a big truck for commercial purposes? No wonder Oldsmobile just went out of business.
