Hi John, I tend to agree with both of you. No visibility and too much bad news. Day trading and scalping, which I don't do well, seems to be the only way to play. Need to stare at a streaming quote screen all day. Makes you go blind! But if you catch it right some of the smaller stuff is poised for a nice short term move if there is a sharp rally.
I have been thinking about this IBM/Hitachi deal and I think the long term beneficiary is EMC. Customers who played IBM off against Hitachi now are going to have find another formula. Plus EMC has learned their lesson regarding draconian terms and conditions and being arrogant towards the end-user and remarketer sectors. The HP/CPQ deal will also divert attention from their marketplace. I think EMC will have a window here to take advantage of. JMHO of course, nothing quantitative to base this on.
