I know, that's why I don't like them for people with chronic credit problems. I'd rather someone like that get an unsecured debt consolidation loan where they do cut'em up.

i bought a couple Aurora 7 sheet cross-cut shredders for the home and office.

staples.com

they have a credit card slot that is very cool to use.

it helped motivate me to close a half dozen accounts i wasn't using, just so i could enjoy feeding the plastic into the shredder...

for security reasons (identity theft), it's bad to keep so many open, unused accounts anyway.
