Jeffrey Clarke, Compaq's CFO: In the messages "I'm talking to the troops and the team and saying we need to increase the pace of our decision making and we need to close the gaps" between current performance and the targets, he said. "I was frustrated that the targets we had set were not being accepted by the business groups."

The argument Carly makes does have some merit. There is always fighting over goals and reality...

Capt Kirk: "Scotty, give us more speed!"

Scotty: "But Captain, the engines wonna take no more!"

Capt Kirk: "Do it anyway Scotty"

I was under the impression they (Carly and integration team) had set easy integration targets to meet and they were hoping to blow them away. Now it seems they need the exceptional results just to meet the targets. To me, it doesn't seem like what we were told is what was the truth.

Do others feel they were saying that the targets would be easy to meet or a stretch before the vote?
