Yes. If telecom ever turns around... Intel has been gaining share dramatically , at least in the comm products they've highlighted. Maloney saying that Copper runs out of ability conduct, carry, transmit signals at 10 GHz and beyond, so, it all goes optical at those speeds. Intel of course has been ramping capability there, through acquisition and in house dev. 90 nm and 300 mm will give Intel big edge in these kinds of devices over everybody.

Andy B. on, been waiting for him.

Beamer, thread, if you look at only slide, look at slide 59. Bryant:

300 mm came up and got to world class yields almost immediately.

edit, wbmw, I know you've been looking at all of the slides.

Bryant going after "some theoretical company" that has a smaller die size. Slides 162 - 165.

In response to a question, Otellini saying that the continuing nice uptick in server sales might/should be a leading indicator of corporations doing a similar upgrade on the client (PC) side. This could be the long awaited corporate uptick everyone is asking about. Otellini said it can't be predicted in terms of timing, as Intel needs to view one or two more of these such cycles to get a handle on it.

Another question about competing with Athlon and Duron (AMD canceling latter). Otellini said Athlon now competing with Celeron. Said if Intel keeps driving the high performance end, the implication is they think they have the top end to themselves again. Until Hammer?
