There is absolutely nothing the Saudis can do. They have made this move in order to appease the angry voices inside Saudi Arabia. The problem is that it accelerates mutual suspicion among OPEC members. What kind of a deal is Adbdullah cooking with Bush they will ask themselves.

When you go through the combinatorial possibilities you always end up with the Saudis having to raise output for one reason or the other. The worst thing they could is to brandish the oil weapon. If you're starving in Venezuela and Saudis want to cut back supply, will you follow suit? For the good of your Arab brothers?
