"i think it may be safer to pick up the beaten down tier one stocks..." That's what I'm doing, but I expect to be wrong for a while. Venture rounds are attracting big dollars, and existing companies are being sold. If you look at it objectively, it's the early-stage companies that are gathering the money, and the late-stage companies that are taking the hit. This could have something to do with how the analysts are incentivized. Not that they are whores or anything....
