You can find out about JC here:

Member 3509231

He seems to have paid the price for his arrogance having claimed to have gone full margin on SUNW at much higher levels and would ridicule (or attempt to) any opposing views.

I have been bearish on SUNW for some time and have had many disagreements with people eg Charles Tutt, JDN and Qwiksand but they all treated me with respect despite often differing views. Talking to JC by contrast was a waste of time.

Would you be so kind as to fulfill room222's request and let me know?

I'm curious as to why I (or anybody) should be in the middle of this, since 'room222' is as capable of telling you who JC is as I am (or anyone is, with the possible exception of JC's wife).

Perhaps 'room222' thinks that because he and JC had an adversarial relationship, I might be more objective. Or perhaps he's just trying to manipulate me:-). Probably that.

Anyway, JC was a lopsided SUNW booster and prolific poster on this thread before and during the bubble years. If you can imagine a person with Charles Tutt's unbending allegiance to SUNW, but in whom Charles' phlegmatic and rational gentleman's demeanor was replaced with a crystal meth i.v. drip, you sort of get JC. He was quite smart and had an excellent sense of humor, but the dude was crazy for Sun. In his spare time he made more than a few enemies as a JOT on the Microsoft thread.

When the bubble popped, JC quite suddenly stopped posting. He and twister (who recently changed his handle to 'room222' in order to further emphasize in his own mind his hierarchically superior relationship to SUNW bulls) used to go at it quite a bit, but essentially in a good-natured way despite frequent use of insults and foul language on both sides. JC thought SUNW would keep growing forever. Twister did not. (Note: twister was bearish on SUNW's business prospects WRT Wintel, but his negative emphasis was primarily on valuation. twister also does not respect SUNW's management.)

In the medium term, i.e. during the bubble, JC was right and twister was wrong. twister was occasionally man enough to own up to his erroneous predictions ("nine months from now SUNW will be toast"), although he insisted that in the long run he would be proved right. In the long term, twister WAS proved right about valuations, and JC was wrong. JC evidently chose not to deal with that on a daily basis. So he split. I think others on the thread, not including myself, may have heard from him privately since he disappeared from view in early 2001.

When 'room222' tells somebody they remind him of JC, that's unsubtle code for "You wind up roadkill if you mess with the MAN", or whatever it is they say on the WWF, 'room222's favorite show.

That's about it. Or I should say, that's about all it's worth. Corrections to unintentional historical revision welcome of course.
