I'm not a Catholic, but the explanation provided by Neocon just emphasizes the common ground on which all Christians (and Jews and Moslems for that matter) stand. Religion is not faith in God and anybody who uses scripture to promote an evil cause is evil. Right now, people like Osama bin Laden are doing that daily. No religion is exempt from corruption, but all (it seems to me) strive for perfection. Too bad we can accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative, as the song goes.
