It's fine with me. I see no difference between killing a fetal lamb for its fur and killing a newborn lamb - or for that matter an adult sheep - for its meat. I have no objection to any of them.

Of course I'm not part of the animal rights crowd. There are few things more ridiculous than a person protesting against fur coats while wearing leather shoes.

I had a caracul-collared coat when I was a kid, back before my consciousness was raised. I really loved that coat. I have forgotten all about it until I first heard of Karzai's hat. I presume that karakuls are raised as livestock in that part of the world and not wild. I presume.
