If people are posting "NOTHING" to each other as these two were, then they should both simply be cautioned for inanity which is interfering with thread hygiene. It seems wrong to allow anyone to arbitrarily silence their opponent (perhaps at a time when they have gained an argumentive upper hand--real or perceived, and merely wish to prevent fair comment from the other). Lacking objective criteria that may be rationally and consensually assessed...it empowers any twit who wishes to forestall fair comment, to silence his/her opponent. With all due respect, Lazarus--it doesn't make sense. I know you favour feedback and consensus as democratic values, so I am giving you mine...as one of many to consider. There ought to be some OBJECTIVE reason(s) proffered in support of any "to and abouts". For God's sake, we are mature human beings--not flatworms...
