From what I see majority of Daytraders make money on a raising market. Greenspan provided the biggest wealth builder when he pumped money in the market in preparation for the year 2000 bug. In that senario 90% of traders made money save and except BMFM. On a declining market very few have the knowledge or willpower to short. Although many daytraders make money on a declining markets the hold and profit is much less.

Daytrading on the internet is very new in stock trading years so the 90+ percent loss has to be complete speculation.
