<Rock phosphate and dolomite limestone are both considered 'organic fertilisers', and used in finely-ground form by many including myself ... in this sense 'organic' is taken to mean 'free from harmful chemicals' ... so to use a steel hoe to kill weeds in lieu of spraying some synthetic [though by scientific classification 'organic'] herbicide, would be an 'organic' solution >
I can understand the usage here(new age/commercial) but as a geologist I tend to stick with the classic definition of "organic". As ol' Professor Shaky Smith used to say "It's got to have carbon in it to be organic". Limestone and dolomite have carbon but feldspar ain't. Thanks for the response.
