>>our debased and depraved culture has corrupted every aspect of society, the catholic church included.<<

you mean people are sinners? no way?!?! that sure is breakin news!

>>as with everything, the media has blown the issue out of proportion though. only a small percentage of catholic priests are pedophiles. you are going to find pedophiles in all walks of life. the egregious part is losers like cardinal law who put themselves and the church above the need to protect children. he ought to be ashamed of himself, and he should have resigned weeks ago, for the good of the church. if he refuses to resign the holy father should send him packing.<<

he should go to jail, imho. btw, the BIG issue isn't that some priests were pedophiles. the big news is that NEARLY 100% OF THE PEOPLE IN CHURCH MANAGEMENT COVERED IT UP OVER THE COURSE OF MANY DECADES (it was church de facto policy) and let these criminals continue to assault children. not to mention BILLIONS of contributions will end up going to kids abused by priests.

nearly the entire management has been corrupt in this regard over the course of decades. they didn't "fess up" until ABSOLUTELY FORCED BY MANY NONBELIEVERS TO DO SO! the broader question is whether a christian can support such a profoundly sinful and potentially criminal organization with cash used to pay criminals, pay others to cover up criminals and to settle lawsuits as a result of the covered up criminals.

blown out of proportion? i think not. the holy church would still be in denial if it were not for the carnal media dictating morality to them.

the hypocrisy is thicker than molassis (sp??) in a minnesota winter!

The pope doesn't want Cardinal Law to resign. Law is a favorite of the Pope's. And the Pope will do what he can to protect Law.

btw, approx 45% of priests are homosexuals.
