The whole bull/bear debate is a non-issue, because the market has a curious habit of going up and down (moving inversely to gurus' calls). Look closely at any permabull or permabear and you'll usually see, astonishingly enough, a goose. They fly about in "V" formations, behind their gurus, honking all the while. They land here and there on various threads, leaving their deposits. Sometimes they find a thread where they can nest and flourish. They can be a nuisance in open urban areas, but they favor remote lowlands as breeding grounds, areas impassable to humans on foot (moderated threads, private lists, etc.). Their gurus can be relied upon to lead them to these nesting areas in the great northern muskeg. After breeding, they take to the air as a family and migrate south. The behavior of geese can be interesting. When a family of bear geese ventures too close to a family of bull geese, there's a lot of noise and threatening. Strength in numbers comes into play in determining the victors. Actual market direction (north or south with the seasonal migrations) is irrelevant. It's all about the sensitive egos of these small-headed, noisy birds. This thread has a goose eradication program, but it hasn't been effective.
