John, I think it's obvious that in the last year or so, Intel has tightened up their chip design verification and validation processes, reduced manufacturing costs, and, most important, gotten back to #1 in process and manufacturing engineering in the industry (if they'd ever slipped from #1). I think they got sloppy for a while, but I appreciate the fact that they've apparently fixed the problems. One other thing, quite often, the best design doesn't mean the most accepted or best selling chip. The Athlon was obviously once better than the P4 overall, but the P4 has taken over because Intel has been able to scale it very well. With Intel having fixed their apparent problems, I expect them to also overcome any Hammer superiority (not yet proven) by superior process and manufacturing engineering.
