Hio Michael,

Maybe I missed something in the calculation on the net asset value of TXCC. Here are the details:

Message 17321411

Keep in mind this was before the recent earnings report and I have not heard that call or looked at the numbers.

Let me know if you calculate it differently.

Like the combination of the two companies - doesn't appear to be much overlap of existing customers....when combined, the list appears to include Agere, Lucent, Cisco, Siemens, etc.etc. - an exceptional list. However, with Worldcom reeling, T not doing much better, (don't know about Sprint), the BabyBells not doing well either (though holding up better than most), doesn't look like a turnaround will occur anytime soon. Not this year, maybe not next. Hope they hoard their combined cash well, but it looks like they are on the prowl for more acquisitions. They shouldn't expend cash - maybe use their stock judiciously, or buy companies with very clean balance sheets.

Things look bad - and stable in their badness.

There's hope - Gates once thought no one needed more than 64K of memory. Movie on demand, interactive game playing - what will soak up existing excess capacity? Napster was helping until it was shut down.

I listened to both conference calls; not much to gleen other than the usual: little visibility, increasing turns business, difficult to predict the future.

Thanks Michael for posting the information.
