Well-stated. Religions are blamed a lot for murder and killing. Jesus said there were two commandments--love neighbor as self and love God with all one's resources. Muhammed sparked a civilization that did not set its sights so much on on conquering as on prosecuting a golden age. Arts, Sciences, and trade flourished. There were few race or class distinctions. Then some fanatics ruined the show. The US probably doesn't "likes to" since unhappy parties seem to have plenty of ways to get back at us. But I understand your reasoning here.
