IF you are a walking tax shelter (which a lot of folks in agriculture seem to be) ...there may be a slight advantage to living in a state with an income tax....some states have programs designed to keep land in farms or larger open parcels and limit property tax liabilities to a certain percentage of income....That is the only example I can muster for being positive about any kind of tax.

Well, my property taxes are very low (the first $75,000.00 is totally exempt), but I have to pay Louisiana state tax.
