Tony, I guess IBM and others are planning for some "mainstream" Itanium 2 products, but I don't really see the point. They'd have to be pretty specialized, given the small amount of applications (50-100) that have been ported already. They'd also be very expensive, and require exotic cooling solutions. IMO, Itanium 2 just won't be ready for high volume markets in its current incarnation. Maybe Deerfield will be different.
