I have to disagree.

Government "freebies" are not the same thing.

Tax reduction isn't a "freebie", it is a battle to protect at least some of the money you earn.
Paying zero taxes means you don't have the right to talk about how those taxes are spent... but when you look at your income and outgo, you'd have to say most of us have quite a bit we should be saying !

Unearned government handouts distort the political and economic process, hurt morale and morals. Politics is all about "freebies" these days, 50% of which is a large system of transfer payments, with very little going for constitutional purposes. The disaster of the welfare system is a study in freebie psychology, imo.

My son who works as a claims adjuster for a large workman's comp insurance company sees first-hand what happens when people take too much of a freebie attitude... work ethic shrivels and dies.
