I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I think after 7 days of punishment, after two months of down, after two years of down the public is finally taking their money out of the big mutual funds that have sucked all this time. These guys need to raise cash. They've been stashing it in big "safe" stocks for two years. They've been slowly (some not so slowly) siphoning it out of AOL, GE, IBM, MSFT, etc. For a while they were only selling into rallies and buying declines. Now I'm not so sure they aren't selling declines.
