Joan, It was a big one, but I don't remember the actual amount. I do remember Don de don Regan saying that we "didn't want a strong dollar" right before the crash. Then Ronnie Babe met Gorbachev in Iceland without Nancy to help him, and came out looking like a boob. El Crasho Profundo.

Joan, check out John Murphy's " Intermarket Technical Analysis" he notes that the US $ topped in spring of 1985 and notes that there can be long lead times. It's a good book even if your not into technical analysis because the combined input of all the markets can make the picture a bit more clear.
