Jacob, Cary--thanks for your answer. Despite all the good news, gdp, inc bookings, etc; the market has fallen almost 300 naz points since early/mid March. Why is this happening? I know that the market and its behavior can be very irrational. I also know that the market can be very smart. So my question is: what is happening now? Under the surface with a drop in the naz and esp the ndx, the fundamentals improve; the seeming contradiction is very worrisome to me.

Is it herd behavior? I dont see signs yet of a "contrary" view(as seen in Sept); this process may be beginning, but it is in early formation stages--hence the market appears MT down.(despite ST bounces). Is there a deeper problem here? Is the Fed starting to tighten money supply and the smart money or da boyz( as our more eloquent si members call them) realize that the double dip recession is coming sooner than later.
I cant see whats happening, but the Ta and the Fa do not jive; and as the great Turnip Farmer says" believe the TA".

Can anyone help explain this? thanks to all , Rick
