Saw you post same on Yahoo.
Sentiment looks pessimistic over there.
Might wade back into VTSS myself at this level.
But I've always been too early.
Often way too early.
$5.50 in a savings account will be worth $6 in 2005.
Do you think a share of VTSS will be worth that much?

Hi OL, For me VTSS has been a long ride. Nearly a decade now. Because of the profits generated over the years I can afford to use the cash to buy up shares as they plummet.

I'm not happy to see this occurrence either, but still, there have to be buyers when there are sellers. I choose to be on the opposite side of the equation than many others. Right now the crowd is selling. I can't absorb all that they are selling, obviously, but I was buying late Friday.

I'm not in a big hurry to turn over the inventory, so if it waits a quarter or two before I can actually make a sale, that's okay since it's part of the business plan. The LIFO gains I look for are large enough that when the trades occur they still provide pretty good annualized returns.

Watching the NYSE "Cumulative Breadth" in recent months shows that investing dollars are spreading out. Breadth has been increasing even as the DOW has been sinking (see BARRONS Market Laboratory). Generally this is a healthy sign for the long term. Your move to the NYSE issues is probably a sound one. I'm more of a "buy when there's blood in the streets" type.

When the telecoms start buying again (not IF, but When), and I don't pretend to know when that will happen, VTSS and others in this sector of the market will again rise nicely. Your average cost of $9 will look pretty good then.

Best regards, Tom
