Peter,

"INTC has bags of money to outlast & outfox the competition FWIW only"

haha ya I agree; but I'm hoping AMD smarts and uniqueness will brake the old INTC market share and bring something new to the overall market. Hey we were/are seeing AMD in many computers at best buy and other retailers; didnt used to have that. I'm not sure which brands are still carrying AMD but I know my girlfriend bought her gateway with a AMD about hmm a year ago. Never heard of that before ... AMD with gateway.

I'm not really head over heals over ATI; yet <g> I just dont like NVDA and as of right now I think ATI's products are starting to look real good and showing some inovations. They used to be really poor at driver support and have a ton of problems with their drivers etc ... Now people are starting to flock to ati; well more then they used to.

again I really dont like NVDA right now; their products just seemed to be faster versions of their previous products which are not bad in themselves; they just are not that innovative; and also the deal with 3dfx. I dont know how long after I bought my voodoo 5500 that 3dfx was suddenly bought out and basically all 3dfx users were left to fend for themselves. Not a good way to treat customers IMO let alone a company that had a good product.

I really havnt followed too closly the whole TMTA ATI NVDA Xbox thing. While I did hear that rumor about ATI and xbox and something about NVDA and TMTA since they have some role with the xbox; thats all the farther I got <g>.

Sean

ATI has a graphics chip that is rumoured to be in the next iteration of the
X-box

Uh, you think MS is going to use the supplier of Nintendo's gamecube? For the "next generation" that will be five years away anyway? Of course ATI doesn't get much from the GC deal anyway. Sounds like wishful thinking from ATY bagholders IMO.

(which is the ultimate gaming machine

Ohhhhh..you're an expert on playing video games...that explains things :)
