the panel discussion i watched on PBS indicated strongly that Prince Abdullah said, you(the U.S.) get Sharon under control and out of the picture or, yes, they will have to play the oil card because the pressure from 'the streets' is becoming a force they can not control.
I, myself, think that Abdullah would agree to "by-pass" Arafat if there was someone other than Sharon in power.
But, the panel, stressed that Abdullah expects the U.S. to do this,that is the Land for Peace and full recognition of Israel, is, behind closed doors,has been taken off the table as long as Sharon is in power.
And it is centering wholly around the matter of Ariel Sharon..----this is just the realities that have been reported,nothing less,nothing more.
